About the Office:
About the Office:
The Office of Admissions oversees all activities required for admitting attorneys to the practice of law. Admissions oversee the administration of the California State Bar Exam, First-Year Law Students’ Exam, and the Legal Specialization Exams. The office conducts applicant moral character investigations, registration, and accreditation of law schools that do not seek approval from the American Bar Association. We seek an analyst to assist with compliance monitoring for law schools.
Ideal Candidate:
As a Program Analyst/Senior Program Analyst, you’ll plan and draft clear, concise reports summarizing your findings from your law school inspections, review annual reports, and evaluation of program change requests submitted by registered and accredited law schools. You can target your writing to different audiences with ease. These local law schools provide affordable and flexible access to legal education.
You have excel skills (Pivot Tables, Formulas) and have demonstrated success interpreting data, summarizing results, and writing reports based on data. You can review data and select the key points needed to make a decision.
You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment to shifting priorities. You are curious, and organized, and enjoy working on novel research projects.
You can travel within California to assist with the administration of State Bar exams, law school inspections, and law school meetings as needed.
Position placement in the senior or principal role will depend on the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, and assigned responsibilities.
Program Analyst Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a field that develops skills related to essential duties, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in data collection and evaluation, research or performance or financial analysis, grant compliance in a public sector, legal or nonprofit environment, or equivalent.
Applicants who meet the Minimum Qualifications will be required to complete the State Bar’s selection process for this classification.
Senior Program Analyst Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a field that develops skills related to essential duties, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of journey-level professional experience in data collection and evaluation, research or performance or financial analysis, or grant compliance in a public sector, legal or nonprofit environment, or equivalent.
Applicants who meet the Minimum Qualifications will be required to complete the State Bar’s selection process for this classification.
Program Analyst Annual Salary Range: $88,481 - $117,971
Senior Program Analyst Annual Salary Range: $97,336 - $129,781
