Methodist Home for Children is hiring in Easter NC! We are seeking a social work professional to provide services and support to families in our care.

JOB TITLE: Program Coordinator

SERVICE AREA: Bertie County, Edgecombe County, Greene County, Halifax County, Hertford County, Lenoir County, Nash County, Northampton County, Pitt County, Wayne County, Wilson County

SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision, administration, and implementation of the assigned project and program in the assigned geographical area. Position supervises eight staff throughout the service area.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the tasks and administration of an assigned area program with regard to day-to-day operations, fiscal management, program planning and development, and direct supervision of Family Preservation Specialists.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality services and the compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Provide clinical supervision to eight Specialists.
  • Provide on-the-job training and ongoing coaching for newly employed Specialists, in addition to formal training provided by the Agency.
  • Collaborate with contractual and referring agencies to ensure the ongoing coordination of services.
  • Provide backup for Specialists in the case of illness, leave, or other emergency to cover their cases by phone or in person as needed.
  • Be available or make arrangements for consultation/supervision 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Provide a minimum of 1 hour per week of individual consultation/supervision to each assigned Specialist.
  • Provide direct family preservation interventions as needed.
  • Collect, screen and review Specialists’ case files, and maintain confidentiality and security of records.
  • Provide clinical consultation, as necessary, to other service areas in the assigned geographic area.
  • Provide training to other agencies and organizations as needed.
  • Screen, assess, and provide services for private referral cases as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in an appropriate human service area, preferred. Bachelor’s degree with management, supervision, and direct care experience will be considered. Master’s level candidates must have at least three years of post-graduate work experience with families, preferably in providing in-home services. Bachelor’s candidates must have at least five years of combined experience in direct family care, management, and supervision.

Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year

Sick Leave: Paid sick leave is accumulated at 12 days (96 hours) per calendar year. All unused sick leave will carry over into the next calendar year.

Life Insurance: Term life insurance is provided by MHC for full-time staff in the amount of $75,000. Supplemental life insurance is available for individual or family coverage.

Workers’ Compensation: This agency-paid benefit covers on-the-job injury.

403B Plan: Employees can contribute to a tax-deferred annuity plan; MHC matches a portion of the contributed funds.

Credit Union: All employees are offered membership to the Coastal Credit Union (CCU).

Methodist Home for Children works in partnership with the NC Department of Public Safety and local Juvenile Crime Prevention Councils. In-home counselors coach court-involved youth and their families and equip them with skills for conflict management, impulse control, education, and employment. These teens are referred to our programs by juvenile court counselors.
