Lifesteps, a local human services organization based in Butler, is currently seeking a full-time Program Specialist to assist with developing Goal Plans for adult individuals who have disabilities.
The Program Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Support Plan (ISP) outcomes for adult clients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This role works closes with Community Home Supervisors and Directors to write, implement, and train staff on the goal plans.
In order to know a client better, working at the community home where the client lives gives much insight to a thoughtful and appropriate goal plan for that individual. Program Specialists may take clients on outings in the community and support their needs when away from the program/house.
The position is responsible for training new staff members in their assigned territory on topics such as 6400 regulations, abuse reporting, individual rights, etc. but does Not supervise staff. The role is a combination of administrative and hands-on.
The full-time role works at the office in Butler, PA Monday thru Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm, with travel in the assigned area. No on call, weekends or holidays! Mileage reimbursement is available.

Program Specialist Qualifications:
- Associate Degree with minimum of 4 years experience working with persons with disabilities, OR
- Bachelors Degree with minimum of 2 years experience working with persons with disabilities, OR
- Masters Degree with minimum of 1 year experience working with persons with disabilities
- Valid Drivers License, Auto Insurance, and Ability to lift up to 200 lbs. with assistance required
- Ability to provide acceptable clearances
- Proficiency with Writing Plans, and using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
