Project Management is an essential function in the Enterprise Change department at Texas Capital Bank. The ideal candidate has strong soft skills and can easily navigate complex projects and programs to deliver under pressure whilst fostering relationships with their team and internal stakeholders.
This individual will be organized, curious, focused on the ‘why’ and client experience. They will possess the ability to balance speed of delivery, navigate around risks and have a strong working knowledge of project management best practices. This position will be working with business partners from our Mortgage Finance organization delivering complex projects using the best fit of both waterfall and agile.

- Manage multiple cross-functional projects across several business units through formal Project Management Office (PMO) structured and governed processes.
- Define project scope and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with project sponsor, senior management, and stakeholders; maintain alignment with leadership and project team throughout the life of the project and develop an approach to execute and deliver the projects in an effective and efficient manner.
- Assist with functional, technical, and operational planning and design for the implementation of new systems and/or product enhancements.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
- Ensure clear roles/responsibilities are defined, communicated, and accepted.
- Lead and direct the work of others in a matrixed, cross-organizational project team that can include various technical and business owners and third-party vendors.
- Adhere to TCB PMO strategy, policies, and standards.
- Apply best practice project management methodologies for delivering engagements on-time, on-budget, and to specification.
- Provide transparency and clarity around project status, risks and issues through written and verbal communications, executive level presentations and weekly reporting.
- Effectively facilitate cross-functional, technical, and business process discussions in a productive manner while not necessarily being the Subject Matter Expert on the topic at hand.
- Prepare and present steering committee executive-level materials.
- Manage and build relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders from project inception to post-deployment while simultaneously ensuring sponsor and end-user satisfaction.
- Balance delivering results with fostering a collaborative approach while problem solving in a group setting with the project team.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Plan, schedule and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate project portfolio management software, proactively identifying, and managing project dependencies and critical path across multiple work streams and internal and external parties.
- Create and submit project budgets, drive budget approval, track and report actuals and forecasts within approved budget, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues throughout the lifecycle of a project.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and work with other department managers to obtain commitments on assignments.
- Coordinate, schedule and facilitate weekly project team meetings to manage, status and track all aspects of the project execution with the full project team inclusive of technical team, business owners and third-party vendors.
- Anticipate, respond, and communicate project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently to business sponsors, technical teams, and stakeholders.
- Liaison with third-party vendors in all aspects of project delivery including contract execution, planning and execution.
- Maintain the mindset of full ownership for the project execution and success, drive project team members to execute against plan, take proactive steps to ensure tasks are on track, identify and escalate any potential risks and issues.
- Conduct project postmortems and lessons learned to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

- 10+ years’ hands-on project management experience leading complex program/projects is required. This includes project planning, project controls/monitoring, budget management, setting and managing customer expectations utilizing waterfall, iterative and Agile practices, and methods.
- High degree of proficiency in project management software such as MS Project as well as other MS Office applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Visio) for reports, analysis, and presentations is required.
- Familiar with project portfolio management software is preferred.
- Experience utilizing waterfall project methodology is required.
- Experience executing within additional project methodologies including iterative and Agile practices and methods is preferred.
- Proficiency building and managing large complex project schedules and budgets is required.
- 3+ years banking/ financial sector experience is highly preferred – focus on Mortgage Finance is ideal.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously is required.
- Ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and establish positive working relationships across all levels of throughout the organization.
- Understanding of Business and Technical change management concepts
- Understanding of business analysis concepts with experience in requirements definition, gap analysis and user acceptance testing is required.
- Outstanding organizational and effective time management skills
- Possess excellent executive-level presentation skills.
- Outstanding verbal presentation and written communication skills
- Proven track record driving for results while working in a collaborative team environment.
