Job description

The Superintendent - Higher Education will be supporting for our California Institutional Business Unit. In this role you will provide proposals support, pre-planning, scheduling, preparation of logistics plans, on-site supervision and quality control for field operations and onsite management of design/build construction projects. The person in this role also reviews documents, responds to scope modification evaluations during construction, and works to complete Clayco projects with respect to Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives. The Superintendent will observe work in the field and compares to drawings to ensure installations are in accordance with drawings and specifications. You will work closely with clients and as part of a team to provide the best solutions on design-build projects valued anywhere from a $20 million to over $200 million.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Previous experience managing Higher Education, Community College and/or Healthcare construction projects in California valued at $20 million or more
• Good communication skills
• Ability to be collaborative and become part of a high-performance team
• Ability to supervise construction employees and subcontractors to accomplish work within budget and schedule constraints
• Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality
• Strong work ethic and willingness to travel or relocate to jobsite within California.
• Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency
• Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
• Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs
