As a Protection Engineer in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

As an (Project Engineer - Protection) *, a typical day might include the following:

• Development of detailed protection and control design drawings, performing studies, and/or creating relay settings with logic for utility and industrial customers
• Maintaining an acceptable level of knowledge and expertise with SEL products and industry best practices to protect and automate electric power systems
• Assisting customers with testing and commissioning developed solutions
• Providing engineering support to technical leads, project managers, and customers
• Working on business development activities by reviewing and proposing design solutions that meet customer requirements

This job might be for you if:

• Possess a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
• Have an interest in electric power systems and protective relay applications
• Are open to 25% travel
• Want to gain experience with power transmission, distribution and/or generation systems
• Are interested in expanding your knowledge by learning new skills and assuming new responsibilities to grow into the role of an independent engineer, lead, and/or quality assurance reviewer.
• Enjoy working cooperatively in a team environment

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Project Engineer I $76,100 - $118,900. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
