Position Summary:
Specific to the primary food division, manages all quality assurance functions, communicates with suppliers about quality and safety issues, and assures compliance with safety and food packaging laws and regulations. Oversee food safety plans and take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system. Communicate to relevant personnel all information necessary to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system. Individual(s) in this position are responsible for food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure regulatory compliance, and compliance with customer standards for food safety and packaging.
- Review company-wide procedures confirming they are consistent with customer and company expectations.
- Manage the Environmental program and swabbing.
- Complete verification and validation activities.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding quality and safety, including coordinating holds.
- Ensure that finished product quality issues/complaints are analyzed and resolved.
- Perform internal and supplier qualification audits as required (i.e. preparation of audit plans, audit reports, and verifying corrective actions have been completed and are effective, etc.).
- Serve as liaison to pest Management Company.
- Monitor facility to ensure that it complies with GMP’s, facility sanitation.
- Oversee Quality Department to ensure that each member performs all required responsibilities professionally.
- Serve as Recall Coordinator by processing items through the recall system.
- Oversee staffing of Quality Department and serve as back-up to the QA Manager.
- Aid Quality and Production Department in preparation for new jobs.
- Initiate and lead non-conformance investigations regarding component failures, finished goods failures, and product returns.
- Perform risk analysis, root cause analysis, develop a corrective action plan, implement the plan, and submit a summary report for project closure.
- Ensure that quality related issues are adequately addressed (i.e., suppliers identified and qualified, inspection activities developed, appropriate sampling plans identified, validations performed, etc.).
- Develop and manage quality system and train quality inspectors in all aspects of their job.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
College Degree and/or equivalent related experience
Experience with FDA and AIB regulations and standards that apply to food packaging
PC literacy- experience using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
Excellent organization and communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
