The Opportunity
This position focuses on supporting the Quality Manager in developing, implementing and overseeing all aspects of Ulteig’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role reports to and works under the supervision of the Quality Manager. In partnership with Ulteig’s Quality Council, the Quality Engineer will lead or support Quality and process improvement initiatives critical to the Council’s mission. The successful candidate will leverage Lean Six Sigma, Change Management and Quality Management Systems expertise to deliver organizational value by implementing innovative and robust Quality process and tools that enable sustainable growth, enhance Ulteig’s culture of Quality, and elevate Ulteig’s reputation for delivering value-differentiating Quality in the industry.
What You’ll Do
- Perform project quality audits to monitor teams’ adherence to and effectiveness of Ulteig’s Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes and tools.
- Proactively seek new ways to improve the overall effectiveness of the QMS through benchmarking or researching industry trends and Quality Management best practices.
- Partner with leaders and process owners in applying a risk-based approach to designing and integrating QA/QC processes throughout the value stream and shared service organizations.
- Monitor internal and client-facing Quality metrics to proactively identify emerging issues, trends or risks.
- Conduct Quality-related training and orientations for new employees and managers.
- Lead Quality-related training events and attend team meetings to continually promote awareness and drive improved adherence to Quality policies and procedures.
- Author new Quality-related procedures, work instructions, forms and templates.
- Conduct or facilitate Root Cause Analysis workshops to address significant project execution issues and risks in support of Ulteig’s Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA) process.
- Act as a Change Management practitioner and resource in assisting Managers with the delivery of significant change initiatives to affected employees.
- Facilitate or support Lean Six Sigma process improvement workshops and events, both internally and in partnership with clients.
- Actively support Ulteig’s centralized Document Management System (DMS) implementation and maintenance.
- Support the Procurement department in the development and implementation of Ulteig’s supplier and subconsultant Quality management program.
- Partner with Client Solutions to proactively understand client Quality needs and expectations.
- Lead and execute elements of the Quality Annual Plan as assigned by the Quality Manager.
What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in an Engineering discipline
- 7+ years working in a similar role in an engineering services or technical environment
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting the development of an enterprise wide QMS following best practices of ISO9001:2015
- Experience conducting internal Quality audits and administering or supporting an internal audit program
- Experience conducting supplier surveillance activities include Quality audits, First Article Inspections, performance monitoring, and administering Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
- Demonstrated experience leading small teams through structured problem solving and process improvement efforts
- American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) a plus
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Practitioner a plus
- Experience with Risk Management and Strategic Planning methodologies a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of an organization and with clients
- Strong time management and workload management, must possess the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently
- Strong desire and ability to foster effective working relationships with leaders and individual contributors across the organization
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

- Ability to travel domestically up to 25%
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $98,000*
