Job Summary

This leadership position oversees the quality department to motivate and encourage the team to reach daily objectives. This position is expected to communicate opportunities and issues to the Senior Leadership team to best reach established business goals. Responsible for managing the Pitco quality standards, the inspection of materials, equipment, processes, and product, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Pitco quality standards and quality control systems.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance by auditing quality systems and products.
  • Lead, train and manage direct reports in quality practices and assessment of products.
  • Provide day-to-day direction for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize documentation related to quality and inspection checks.
  • Maintain calibration equipment and databases.
  • Producing statistical reports on quality standards as required.
  • Interpret blueprints for the purpose of establishing customers’ critical needs and how they should be measured.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met. Document results and findings after inspections are completed.
  • Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements. (i.e.: Corrective Action Requests, Material Discrepancy Reports, etc.)
  • Adhere to all departmental and company-wide safety and procedural policies.
  • Notify supervisor of any quality or production problems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has direct reports. It is incumbent on the quality manager to mentor and lead the quality staff to facilitate the growth of the company and the employee.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or other related field
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Understanding of ISO 9000
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (and/or Six Sigma)
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • This is a safety sensitive position therefore a drug test is a requirement of employment.
