Job Description: The primary duty of the Radiation Therapist is to accurately deliver the prescribed radiation treatment, designated by the Radiation Oncologist, under minimal supervision. The Radiation Therapist is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with quality assurance standards and to maintain a high standard of work performance. Record daily treatments and all other documentation necessary for quality assurance and improvement guidelines. The Radiation Therapist must exhibit a professional level of knowledge of the oncology disease process including etiology and symptomatology of cancer, display the ability to have good understanding of the emotional, social and physical needs of the radiation patient and families, work efficiently under emotionally stressful situations.

Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of Radiation Oncology Technology. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible. Annual recertification required. The candidate must pass exam within three months of hire date Registered RT (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligibility required. For Registry eligible candidates, candidate must pass exam within three months of hire date. RT (T) license as issued and required by the Indiana State Department of Health is required. Requires current BLS certification.
