Westmoreland County Community College is seeking to fill a casual part-time Radiology Technology Simulation Trainer. This position is responsible to provide a comprehensive learning experience utilizing simulation technology to the students in the Radiology Technology Program. The initial work schedule will vary Monday-Saturday depending on the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: JOB SPECIFIC

• Maintain daily lab hours conducive to student scheduling.
• Assess and evaluate the acquisition of knowledge, skills, attributes and behaviors on the simulation based learning experience.
• Educate faculty (full and part-time) regarding utilization of simulation lab.
• Coordinate with faculty regarding development and integration of simulation into the curriculum.
• Choose the instructional modalities needed to meet the desired outcomes of the simulation.
• Communicate the objectives and expected outcomes prior to the simulation-based experience."
• Interface with faculty and staff to facilitate optimum functioning of the simulation equipment.
• Provide a safe learning environment that encourages active learning and reflection and supports repetitive practice.
• Provide tutoring support to the Radiology Technology Program students in concert with faculty.
• Foster participant learning by providing appropriate support throughout the simulation activity.
• Act as a resource person for faculty and students relative to the Radiology Technology Skills and Simulation Lab equipment.
• Ensure security of the Radiology Technology Lab and the equipment during assigned work hours.
• Monitor lab supplies inventory in cooperation with faculty.
• Establish and obtain evaluation data regarding the effectiveness of the facilitator and the simulation experience.
• Validate each simulation based on current best practice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: STANDARD TO THE ROLE

• Oversee day-to-day tasks of assigned work study students.
• Accurately maintain records and submit reports as required.
• Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional development and cross training opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date with professional credentials, best practices and current disciplines including continued educational requirements through certifications, seminars, training programs, etc.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Participate in departmental meetings, various committees and professional organizations as required.
• Perform additional grade level duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING

• Associate degree in a related field required
• Six years of related experience required
• Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards in current and prior positions.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

• Current registration with the American Society or Radiologic Technologists required
• Valid driver’s license required

CLEARANCES
The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:

• PA Child History clearance
• PA Criminal Record Check clearance
• FBI Federal Criminal History Record

Job Type: Part-time
