SUMMARY: The Refrigeration Operator uses their hands-on knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and experience working with industrial refrigeration components to accomplish preventative and predictive maintenance tasks of the refrigeration department of the assigned facility. Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment, such as compressors, ammonia pumps condensing towers, etc.

Full understanding of the refrigeration cycle

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and assigned work orders

Perform troubleshooting activities, as necessary.

Performs quality checks as required by position and/or product at assigned facility

Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required

oHigh school or equivalent

o5+ years of experience in Refrigeration, Maintenance, or similar skill set

oRefrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified IIndustrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) or ability to obtain.

oAmmonia Refrigeration (2 stage system)

oAble to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License

oProcess Safety Management (PSM) understanding

oValid Drivers License with clean driving record

oSpeak, read & write fluently in English

oHazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certificatione

oExcellent mechanical aptitude with ability to handle multiple projects at one time
