Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital is hiring for a full-time Registered Dietician!

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with current Federal, State and Local standard guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure the quality nutritional services and established dietary policies and procedures are provided on a daily basis.

Job Summary:

• Assist the Dietary Staff in the development and use of departmental policies procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Dietary Department.
• Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating and classifying routine and job related dietary functions to ensure that tasks involing potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded.
• Assist the Discharge Planning Coordinator in planning the dietary services portion of the resident's discharge plan.
• Participate in facility surverys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
• Maintain an adequate liason with families and residents as necessary.
• Assist in developing diet plans for individual residents.
• Assist the Director of Food Services in planning menus, work schedules, etc as required
• Attend department head meetings, etc. as scheduled or as may be called.

Education: Must possess, as a minimum, Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition.

• Ability to read, speak and understand English
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Ability tofollow oral and written instructions
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governement agencies/ personnel and the general public
• Ability to move intermittently throughout the day

Shift: Day Shift (Monday-Friday)
