Full-time Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator
Job Type: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 0800 to 1700, occasional weekend call coverage

Description: Establish nutritional plans, monitor nutritional care, manage physician ordered therapeutic diets, and provide consultation to Medical Staff and other healthcare team members about dietetic care indicated for patients. Including dietetic need of restrictions, monitoring compliance with nutritional standards and provide nutritional education for inpatient population.
Outpatient focus will be providing individualized diabetes and nutrition education to patients and their families/caregivers. Assess patient understanding and cooperation with integrating nutritional planning into the patient’s lifestyle. Modify plans to promote success. Collaborate with the patient’s healthcare team to integrate nutrition therapy into the management of patients’ overall care.
Experience

• At least 2+ years of experience in a related field of dietary work
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Nutrition assessment and intervention for the acutely ill patients.
• Knowledge of social, cultural and economic factors of individuals and families as they apply to public health nutrition and ability to adapt their food preferences into individual nutritional plans.
• Knowledge of appropriate educational principles and methods as applied to public health nutritional practice.

Education and Licensing Requirements*

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or an analogous field from an accredited institution
• Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Certification in Diabetes Care and Education
• Possession of current Dietitian licensure obtained from the Health Licensing Office of the Oregon Health Authority

Pay: $67,073.00 - $90,927.00 per year
