Registered Nurse- ACT Team Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse for the ACT Team is responsible for treating patients experiencing a severe mental illness (SMI) and who may also struggle with addiction. In addition to leadership with the ACT Team, this nurse will also provide some outpatient nurse case management service in the community in order to meet the individualized needs of clients who qualify for ACT team services.


Qualifications for Registered Nurse-ACT Team

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Required:

  • Registered nurse with active Kansas license in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in working with diverse populations in delivery of medical care
  • Demonstrated experience actively participating in collaborative care environment.
  • Experience in performing medical assessments and following client care.
  • Ability to embrace multi-disciplinary approach to care.
  • Comfort in performing clinical nursing visits, triaging and responding to urgent and/or emergent clinical situations, obtaining blood work, monitoring vitals, giving medication injections, and obtaining urine samples.
  • Covid 19 vaccination or verification of religious exemption.

Preferred:

  • Experience in working with individuals with psychiatric conditions.
  • Experience in recovery services including MAT.
