T-Rex is seeking a Release Coordinator to manage the software release of healthcare management solutions to military installations around the world in support of the Defense Health Modernization Systems (DHMS) Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems (JOMIS) Program office. The candidate will work closely with the Release Manager Lead, JOMIS leaders/staff and vendors to plan and execute product releases for the suite of JOMIS modern products. The Release Manager will work directly with the Release Manager Lead and Government JOMIS Release Management Branch Lead to execute the vision and roadmap for Release Management capabilities and processes to support modern systems and applications for Operational Medicine.

The Workforce 3.0 program within DHMS is a managed solution that leverages innovative new processes, methods, and best-in-class methodologies from the private sector to enable the entire PEO DHMS workforce to deliver world-class technology. The DHMS systems provide important health IT capabilities to 9.6 million active duty military, their families, and their beneficiaries. Responsibilities:

  • Identify, document and execute release management processes and procedures for JOMIS Modern Products
  • Coordinate scheduling and planning of product releases for JOMIS Modern Products, including UI changes, security updates, production defects, DevSecOps enhancements, and any approved new data extracts or interfaces per govt request
  • Establish and maintain the JOMIS Release calendar
  • Provide ongoing guidance to product teams on implementation of DevSecOps model across software development lifecycle
  • Work with project teams to integrate change and release management activities into overall project plans
  • Participate in governance meetings and in requirements and design meetings, as needed
  • Develop and monitor change and release management metrics to ensure effectiveness and drives continuous improvement
  • Drive continuous outreach to stakeholders to gather & compile information (e.g., project risks, key deadlines, dependencies, and other details) both for awareness and decision making
  • Support project management milestone events by handling meeting logistics & scheduling, developing & distributing decks for review, and coordinating with relevant stakeholder groups on inputs and outcomes

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional experience, preferably as a Release Coordinator or in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
    • Managing release processes for technical organizations
    • Facilitating the collection of impacts to change from complex and senior set of stakeholders
    • Working with 3rd party vendors to establish common release management processes
    • Consolidating impact assessments for decision-making
    • Preparing briefing materials for executive stakeholders
    • Working within the Agile framework
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using JIRA / Confluence to manage release

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Health Informatics, Medicine, Nursing, Business, or another relevant discipline
  • Agile Certification(s)
  • Secret clearance or higher
  • ITILv4 certification
  • Experience in a healthcare IT or clinical environment highly desired.

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
