Fort Bend Power Producers, LLC.
is a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) processing facility that utilizes landfill gas in Needville, TX. The facility has an 8.0 MMCFD LFG processing plant consisting (2) blowers, (2) Ingersoll Rand reciprocating gas compressors, (1) Worthington reciprocating gas compressor and (2) new Vilter Screw Compressors installed in 2018. The plant has gas treatment equipment to remove H2S, Oxygen, water and CO2.

Job Summary

Location: Needville, TX

Create and execute planned outages with the operations group at the plants in order to deliver operational and financial results in accordance with the budgeting process. To effectively merge routine operations with asset maintenance responsibilities optimizing financial results while meeting safety, environmental and company growth objectives. Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to optimize performance while maximizing employee engagement. To work directly with Plant Manager to operate and maintain the Plants in a manner which meets environmental regulations while optimizing the financial results of the project. This position will report to the Regional Operations Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and maintain critical spares and inventory control to improve asset reliability
  • Lead root cause analysis of plant excursions and work with operations team to identify and close gaps
  • Optimize operating expenses and cost to perform planned maintenance activities
  • Lead continuous improvement projects
  • Develop and lead the preventative maintenance program for the Plants; measure progress with Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Tim Between Failure (MTBF)
  • Collect and report required operating and maintenance data and lead adjustments to optimize flow and methane recovery
  • Technical leadership of the Management of Change (MOC) process for the plants
  • Maintain positive relationships with key business partners
  • Investigate mechanical problems, recommend appropriate repair, replacement and enhancement
  • Performs equipment inspections, testing and operational checks
  • Maintain electronic facility logbook, highlighting activities and noteworthy events
  • Diagnose and correct adverse Plant conditions and malfunctions
  • Directs technical and logistical resources for all operations related activities
  • Provides oversight to specialists supporting operations including gas processing equipment, machine repair and maintenance, energy efficiency, procurement, project management, and others
  • Interfaces with partners, engineers, consultants and legal representatives as necessary
  • Support development of new projects in a technical role
  • Maintain filing system for drawings, instruction books and manuals
  • Work directly with Plant Manager to provide periodic forecasts of expected performance against budget
  • Promotes safe operating practices; assists with safety investigations
  • Supports employee engagement
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, operations management or similar or equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • At least five years of experience with increasing responsibility in technical roles in gas processing facilities, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and in writing to internal and external audiences
  • Organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous activities
  • Proven ability to take tasks, assignments and projects from start to completion largely self-directed
  • Thorough understanding of the financial impact of operational and maintenance decisions at a facility
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to operations and logistics problems in order to provide timely solutions
  • Ability to analyze data for key performance metrics and trends
  • Working knowledge of CMMS Systems, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with email, scheduling, commitment tracking, customer relations and time reporting software

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Most work is within or within the vicinity of a landfill gas processing facility. May operate a motor vehicle and/or ATV style off road vehicle on unimproved terrain.
