Job description
We are seeking a Renewable Gas Field Services Technician to lead and perform all activities required to operate and maintain a gas upgrade system safely, reliably, and efficiently. Responsibilities will include monitoring equipment performance, operational leadership, interfacing with the SCADA system, running analytical tests, and performing technical maintenance work. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in operating utility, renewable energy, and oil and gas equipment. The candidate will report to the VP of Engineering of GreenGasUSA LLC.
The Field Services Technician will remotely monitor multiple sites and primarily travel equipment located in Lewiston-Woodville, NC. Travel to equipment located in Florence, SC, Georgetown, SC, Hartsville, SC, and additional locations will be periodicially required as well.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate renewable gas compression and decompression plants and associated systems, rotating equipment, gas monitoring and metering, compressors, gas delivery systems, and compression into interstate pipelines
- Troubleshoot failures and malfunctions to determine the root cause and maintain, operate, repair, and replace equipment as necessary
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment including compressors and pumps
- Serve as lead point-of-contact on site and assist with overseeing operations, maintenance, and overall activities associated with the facility
- Record and analyze statistical data concerning plant operations ensuring that the plant is running as specified
- Maintain, modify, and repair instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flowmeters, and other quality monitoring equipment
- Collect samples for testing and reporting
- Maintain a clean and presentable plant environment
- Assist with implementing techniques and methods of process control that will increase plant and operational efficiencies
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting detailing operational trends, along with availability and production
- Other duties and project work as assigned
Skills & Requirements
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to understand procedures and instructions. Knowledge or training in biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field desired. Knowledge of wastewater operations a plus.
- Process plant and handling of industrial gas experience preferred
- Maintenance experience with plant instrumentation, analyzers, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and mechanical screws
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems
- Must be able to gather pertinent information and be able to communicate this information professionally and accurately
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to assess problems and situations, recommend a path forward and evaluate alternatives to resolve the problem
- Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of self-motivation
- Valid Driver’s License

- Personal Protective Equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, hearing protection) is required
- Working with hazardous materials
- On call periods will occur
- 50% Travel to Lewiston-Woodville, NC facility
- 40% Remote work
- 10% Travel to other facilities
Schedule
- The Field Services Technician will normally operate and monitor a facility in Lewiston-Woodville, NC
- The Field Services Technician will periodically monitor multiple sites and travel to other sites as needed.
- 8 hour shift Monday to Friday
- On-call rotation for after-hours and weekend monitoring and response
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
