Cambridge MA lab-based role

The Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Unit (NDRU) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic lab scientist to join our Huntington Research group (HD), which aims drive compounds from early discovery to development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and execution of experiments to support current HD programs using a variety of analytical techniques. This will include performing ex-vivo processing and analysis of RNA and proteins from animal tissues and blood as well as potentially screening and characterizing lead compounds in established assays. The candidate is expected to design and perform experiments with minimal supervision, analyze results and interpret the data, and present at team and project meetings.

Qualification:

• Requires a bachelor's degree and typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.
• Must possess understanding of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to analyze and assess results.
• Must be knowledgeable in MS PowerPoint and Excel and experience with GraphPad Prism is a plus.
• Must possess significant experience with biochemical methods including tissue homogenization, RNA and protein isolation, qPCR, ELISA/MSD.
• Must possess significant experience in handling 96- and 384-well format assays
• Must possess experience in basic mammalian cell culturing.
• Understanding of basic mechanisms of protein aggregation in neurodegeneration is a plus.
• Previous experience in an industrial research setting is desired, but not essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $43.00 - $47.00 per hour
