Job Profile and Description:

The core responsibility of the Residential Aide (RA) includes the continued assurance of the safety and security of the residents within the housing. Underthe general direction of the Administrative Housing Director, with some latitude for independent action, the RA provide direct assistance, support, and care to housing residents as well as supporting, assisting, and enforcing facility rules and providing crisis intervention as needed.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, non-judgmental, ethical, caring people person with the ability to use critical thinking, assess situations, and make sound decisions based on good judgement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Complete Intake Check-inlogs, Nightly Attendance Roster, Incident Reports, wellness checks

· Receive food and other deliveries and confirm items received/receipts for accuracy by signing and dating form.

· Prepare and serve meals and organize cleanup

· Ensure compliance with all DOCCS Polices & Procedures and resident house rules

· Assist residents with housekeeping items needed

· Organize game night and other recreational activities for residents

· Notify Administrative Housing Director if any incidents or problems occur

· Participate in staff trainings, strategy sessions, and other meetings as required

· Prepare reports, case notes, and enter data into Sales force as required

· Other duties as needed

Education/Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in commercial and/or residential services. Successfully completed First Aid-CPR & Serve Food Handlers course (both can be completed upon hired).
• Related Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Other Requirements (including Physical Demands)
• Ability to think and act calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Bilingual preferred

Travel Requirements: Will require occasional travel to other program operation locations in New York City, & Newburgh.

Other Requirements: Candidates must be able to safely: climb two flights of stairs, lift up to 15 pounds at times, work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Required to work additional shifts to ensure coverage when staff is on vacation or calls out sick.
