Job description
We are looking for a rewind helper on our 2nd shift to assist the rewinder machine operators. Performs physical and quality assurance operations in the preparation and loading of paper rolls into backstand, and cutting roll cores.
On-the-job training last for two to four weeks in order to learn and perform job requirements satisfactorily. After completing Roosevelt's training program, the rate is $21.32/hr.
In addition, there is the opportunity to earn monthly bonuses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Compares and verifies lot number of the paper roll to the order.
- Slabs samples from paper roll (8 ½ “ x 11”) for supervisors verification and approval. Removes the kraft wrapper, headers and core plugs from roll, and slab any defective paper. Places scrap paper in hopper and kraft paper on cart.
- Operates levers to insert extension arbors into core and elevate roll. Lifts paper manually over rollers and assists operator with additional paper feed through rollers. Splices new paper to existing paper tail for continuous orders.
- Sets up core cutter, selects appropriate diameter core, and cuts core to specified order length.
- Operates levers to lower and retract arbors from butt roll. Removes butt roll from backstand and loads onto cart.
