Job description
Summary/objective
Drivers are responsible for transporting cars from pickup location to the yard. Their job duties include loading/unloading a tow truck, abiding by traffic laws and ensuring safe loading/unloading at pickup at their destination.
This position will also include loading and unloading materials in the yard as well as working in the yard to help maintain organization and help with customers
Essential functions
Sorting Metals
Safely transport cargo from one location to another.
Follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring that there is always enough fuel in the tank for their destination.
Always maintain interior cleanliness.
Fulfill administrative needs
Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
Use navigation application to determine best route
Always interact with clients/employees professionally
Arrange for vehicle repairs with Mechanics as needed
Keep mileage records and repair records up to date
Strapping and chaining cars/loads down
Loading and unloading cars/loads
Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work as a team member
- General cleaning to maintain facility
- Attendance Required
Required education and experience
Valid Indiana Chauffeur License
- High School Diploma/GED
- Clean Driving Record for past 5 years
- 2+ years' experience rollback/flatbed towing.
