Position Purpose

Responsible for the cleaning and preparation of suites for the guest while maintaining system standards and consistency.

What you will be doing

• Clean bathtub, bathroom floor, toilet, sink, walls, tile, vanity counter, mirrors, coffee pot, mugs & glasses, kitchen appliances and windows using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes and/or cleaning agents in a safe and consistent manner.
• Strip and re-make beds, changing linens which may require lifting box springs and mattresses weighing up to 30 lbs. Will be responsible for the rotation of mattresses quarterly for those rooms in their section.
• Dust all furniture, pictures, mirrors, headboards, light fixtures, lampshades, drawers, televisions, window ledges, & PTAC (A/C) units thoroughly.
• Push & pull vacuum throughout entire room paying particular attention to all corners. Empty all trash cans, run dishwasher and empty sink full of dishes.
• Replenish soaps & shampoo if room status is vacant dirty. If room is a stay over, only replace soaps and/or shampoo if guest has opened originals.
• Sign out tower master sectional key; retrieve housekeeping cart and stock necessary provisions needed for that day. Push cart to that floor which has been assigned to you for that day. Upon completion of each room, visually inspect your work to ensure that it meets all standards. Observe and obey all signage such as “later please” or “do not disturb”.
• Bring all lost and found items to the Executive Housekeeper’s office for logging and storage.
• Report immediately to the Executive Housekeeper any out of the ordinary situation in the guest suites, including unreported pets, parties, or unusually dirty suites, or a vacant suite when the room is thought to be occupied or occupied room that was thought to be vacant.
• Handle special requests for guests to include, but not limited to, extra towels, blankets, pillows, etc.
• Perform special cleaning tasks as directed by hotel supervisors.
• In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position maybe required to perform additional functions as determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
• Assist in other areas of the Housekeeping department as needed or as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Assistant.
• Other duties as assigned.

• The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
• Working knowledge of the use of chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen.
• Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs and push or pull heavy equipment/carts up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from Supervisor.
• Ability to learn and apply Hazardous Chemical training standards during new hire probationary period.
• Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Basic ability to comprehend the English language sufficient to understand information such as safety labels and instructions.
