Job description
The Merryvale Assistant Tasting Room Manager's primary duties are to support the TRM in leading, training and inspiring our Tasting Room Team to excel in giving great service while selling our wines. This is an active position, with a significant amount of time spent interacting with guests. Summary of Duties:
Best-in-Class Guest Services and Customer Engagement:
- Executes vision of customer-centric guest experiences; brings this to life through behavior and actions
- Facilitates the achievement of sales goals, wine club sign-ups, and customer data collection goals for Merryvale Vineyards Tasting Room
- Facilitates accurate completion of daily, weekly and monthly reporting and inventory management
Team Engagement, Sales Management, Training, Support, and Education:
- Acts as a leader in all facets, creating an environment of positivity and growth
- Exemplifies values of an agent of positive change who is flexible, nimble, and works well under pressure
- Loves people, loves wines, and loves to grow a business in a positive way!
- Engages with customers in person, via email and over the phone to build connections and create sales
Operations & Systems Support:
- Maintains all procedures, Compliance standards, SOPs, and operational documentation
- Complete understanding of metrics and reporting
- Develops all tasting room sales materials and personalized tasting menus
- Manages and maintains proper Tasting Room wine inventory
Business Development and Outreach Programs:
- Works with hospitality partners to bring qualified guests to the winery
- Acts as liaison with local organizations and community programs resulting increased community involvement
Qualifications:
- A strong leader who is capable of inspiring and engaging others!
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience as a positive change-agent
- Experience with luxury branding—with emphasis on luxury guest experiences a plus
- Professional demeanor and leadership presence that inspires others to grow themselves
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and nearly all weekends
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in hospitality, winery or restaurant management
- Knowledge of retail / hospitality software database systems as well as on-going willingness to learn new systems
- Ability to lift, move, and carry wines—up to 65 lbs
- Experience in WineDirect, Shipcompliant and CellarPass is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
