Job description
The Safety and Security Officer monitors buildings and grounds through patrols and, if applicable, closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance to ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, etc. and to prevent violence, theft or infraction of rules. This individual responds to fires and other emergencies, conducts and documents investigations of accidents, thefts, and other unusual occurrences, maintains departmental logs and records in addition to providing assistance as assigned. Complete de-escalation training within 3 months of hire. Safety and Security Officers work in hospital, clinical, business office and/or corporate office settings.
