POSITION OVERVIEW
Envision Cooperative is looking for a Safety/Fleet Manager to be based out of the Rugby Office. The Safety/Fleet Manager’s objective is to oversee and manage the company safety program, driver files, vehicles, fixed assets, and regulatory reporting. This individual will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a safety conscious environment within the cooperative that exhibits a positive image for our employees and patrons. Must have the skills required to work with the management team and employees to set safety standards that make this a safe and enjoyable company to work for.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
· Coordinate the Safety Management Program and organize monthly safety meetings.
· Communicate effectively with patrons, management and employees pertaining to all safety concerns and questions and ensure all business locations are operating in a safe manner.
· Ensure all employees receive the required safety training and assist in coordinating and/or scheduling training.
· Ensure cooperative compliance with company safety policy, federal and state laws, regulations, and standards.
· Assist and file Workman’s Compensation Claims to Workforce Safety & Insurance.
· Investigate and document all workplace injuries, incidents and near misses.
· Submit and maintain accurate records for annual OSHA 300 and Tier II reporting.
· Submit and maintain accurate records for ND Department of Environmental Quality underground tank reporting.
· Conduct annual evaluation of the cooperative Safety Program and perform annual audit with WSI.
· Serve as Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the Substance Abuse Policy and Program.
· Maintain inventory and compliance of medical supplies, fire extinguishers, required safety signage, and PPE.
· Develop and maintain an emergency response plan for all business locations.
· Maintain an ongoing directory of Safety Data Sheets and emergency contacts.
· Conduct quarterly site inspections. Document items found and submit to department managers to complete.
· Ensure compliance with ND Department of Agriculture for all Anhydrous Ammonia plants.
· Work directly with the Agronomy Managers to maintain the Risk Management Plan.
· Follow up with managers and employees to make sure safety tasks, issues and complaints are being handled.
· Ensure all company meters and scales used for resale are certified annually and remain compliant with the ND Public Service Commission.
· Maintain and ensure compliance with the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan required by the EPA for all company bulk plants.
· Coordinate required inspections with vendors.
· Complete US DOT PHMSA certification for cylinder requalification every 5 years.
Fleet
· Maintain proper records of all cooperative vehicles and fixed assets (maintenance, license renewals, and insurance).
· Communicate department vehicles and fixed asset needs to the CEO with cost analysis.
· Review annual budget with CEO for vehicle and fixed asset purchases.
· File insurance claims as needed and assist with insurance reporting.
· Ensure vehicle and driver compliance with US DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
· Maintain DOT Driver Files and ensure compliance.
· Conduct quarterly driver safety meetings.
· Work directly with the Energy Division Manager to maintain the Transportation Security Plan.
· Update FCC radio licenses as needed.
· Know and understand the rules and regulations for commercial drivers and vehicles.
· Ensure compliance with The Propane Gas Association and our insurance carrier regarding propane driver and technician training.
· Performs other duties and related responsibilities as required and assigned by management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
