ABOUT THE JOB

Spartina 449 is seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented, and eager Sales Support Specialist. This is a highly collaborative role and unique opportunity to hit the ground running growing the brand presence within the wholesale business channel. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales.

This position is based in Spartina 449’s newly opened workplace in Old Town Bluffton, SC. The open concept office is located in a vibrant small-town marketplace surrounded by local shops, restaurants and even a weekly farmer’s market—all just minutes from several charming residential neighborhoods.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Under the supervision of the VP of Sales, the Wholesale Sales Support Specialist is responsible for selling and solidifying high volume programs, as well as maintain and expand existing relationships within our Key Accounts and Independent Retailers.

Your duties include presenting and selling product to new and existing accounts. Connecting and establishing long lasting relationships for long term growth. Growing and managing existing accounts. You are pivotal to the onboarding and operational execution of the order lifecycle to ensure we meet and exceed expectations. This involves being proficient in Microsoft Office along with other Applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Scouting new opportunities through catalog and sample mail outs: research buyer contact information and select products based on buyer departments.

Reporting: Weekly/Monthly Sales Reporting and Presenting

Product Proposals: Create proposals for accounts using product knowledge, customer needs and expectations, along with customer budget.

Order Management: Manage incoming orders via direct or edi. Communicate all pivotal updates including out of stocks, ship windows and product alternatives to keep orders flowing and in line with vendor guidelines.

New Season Preparations: Developing line sheets and materials to share with buyers. Proofing marketing and sales materials, including wholesale catalog.

Tradeshow and Key Account Meetings: traveling to various trade shows and buyer headquarters to present and sell new product offerings with the team.

Working with our Operations Team to ensure all vendor guidelines are communicated and chargebacks avoided.

Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on initiatives to enhance the wholesale buying experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • A professional with 2+ years of sales related experience, preferably in the wholesale fashion or gift industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in the following programs a plus: Netsuite, Brandwise, Pharos, SPS Commerce.
  • Established relationships with target retailer placement a plus.
  • Availability to travel related to this role is required. Must be willing and able to travel overnights locally, regionally and nationally throughout the year. Weekends will be needed during tradeshow season and special events.
  • May be required to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who can rise to creative challenges under tight deadlines and who excels at working both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work well with the rest of Spartina’s team and function well at getting tasks done independently, an eagerness to learn and willingness to grow.
  • A temperament that appreciates Spartina’s warm and collaborative culture, a strong work ethic
