Job description

Responsible for making sure all equipment, parts, rooms, and miscellaneous items are cleaned and sanitized properly meeting the required standards.

· Responsible for ensuring sanitation personnel wear all protective equipment required to ensure a safe working environment and for the enforcement of company rules.

· Responsible for guiding and directing the sanitation crew, and assisting the cleaning process.

· Responsible for training employees on proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures, working with Madison Chemical Company representative to train employees properly, and ensuring proper chemical dilutions.

· Responsible for ensuring equipment is used and cared for properly.

· Responsible for seeing that all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements are documented and completed each night, and the Sanitation Nightly Checklist is completed at the end of the shift.

· Responsible for keeping docks in warehouse clear.

· Responsible for scheduled cleaning of the freezer and cooler storage areas, working with Management, Warehouse staff, and Maintenance to align to align areas for scheduled cleaning in conjunction with required maintenance.

· Responsible for “locking and tagging out” any necessary equipment before cleaning and assuring the entire Sanitation staff follows LOTO procedures.

· Responsible for ensuring that all associates are following Good Manufacturing Practices.

· Responsible for ordering and stocking cleaning chemicals by communicating needs to receptionist for ordering.

· Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with all departments.

· Responsible for seeing that all chemical containers are properly labeled.

· Active participation supporting the Food Defense Plan by enforcing and monitoring all procedures.

· Responsible for ensuring that only chemicals with MSDS are used, and that only USDA chemicals are used, and no chemicals are brought into the plant unless approved.

· Responsible for health and safety of employees on shift.

· Responsible for monitoring site security during working shift and for securing all entryways at the end of the shift.

· Responsible for performing all other tasks as assigned by the FSQA Manager.
