Job Summary
The Technical Basis Engineer will support the SAP technical environments and create the necessary technical designs which are required to enable successful project delivery. Creates technical designs that support the requirements of the business and the specific project in terms of landscape and performance resilience aligning with the overall IT and SAP Infrastructure strategies. This role is viewed as the technical expert to understand, evaluate and articulate recommendations for technical solutions that provide the best outcome for the business and will involve providing leadership and technical direction to team members and consultants.

Job Responsibilities
- Creates, develops and maintains internal business requirements for complex issues by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions with users.
- Translates users more complex business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation.
- Develops, configures, integrates programs for complex SAP Components including, but not limited to SAP S 4, SAP Fiori, SAP SLT, SAP BW, SAP PI PO, SAP BODS etc.
- Performs complex HANA system sizing, architecture design, project planning and deployments in SAP Basis and HANA areas.
- Develops and implements SAP standards within designs and challenge where SAP standard is not proposed.
- Performs monitoring and troubleshooting of complex HANA Database bottlenecks which includes HANA Instance thread lock delta merge monitoring areas.
- Performs set up of complex for high availability and disaster recovery sites for HANA databases.
- Implements complex SAP HANA Data volume management techniques data compression, table partition, compression techniques, and load unload table into memory.
- Identifies, collaborates with vendors and deploys complex SAP and HANA stabilization and optimization solutions.
- Designs, deploys and operates as SAP Solution Manager for HANA Cockpit and Azure monitoring tools
- Maintains SAP ECO system health in support of business critical applications including proactively looking vendor and monitoring tools recommendations.
- Performs single sign on using SAML setup along with other Basis activities including SAP Version, Upgrades Patching and SAP Migrations
- Performs integration of SAP SaaS solutions with the existing SAP solutions.
- Identifies and communicates risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.
- Anticipates and prevents risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.
- Mentors and trains less experienced team members
- Collaborates with stakeholders on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirements.
- Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization. Serves as a liaison between engineering, quality assurance and non technical stakeholders throughout the development and deployment process.
- Anticipates, prevents and eliminates problems and roadblocks before they occur.
- Performs as subject matter expert to less experienced team members. May participate in teaching and training members of work team.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience in SAP Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field OR a High School Diploma GED and at least 7 years of experience in SAP Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
- At least 2 years of experience with technical design process and models. Experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field
- At least 2 years of experience with requirements specification and development, such as process functional requirements definition methods, JAD RAD sessions, use case development, process flow diagrams.. Experience writing code for moderately complex applications
- At least 3 years of expertise in HANA system sizing, architecture design, project planning and deployments in SAP Basis and HANA areas
- Experience in high availability processes and establishing high availability and disaster recovery sites for HANA databases.
- Expert in single sign on using SAML setup along with other Basis activities including SAP Version Upgrades Patching and SAP Migrations
- Expert in integrating SAP SaaS solutions with the existing SAP solutions
- Implemented at least 4 Greenfield Brownfield SAP full implementations
- Experience designing building complex SAP applications automation or deployment automation.
- Expert in automation test or deployment scripts
- Infrastructure expertise in VM, Cloud, Storage, Network, Hana MS SQL Server, operating systems such as Suse, MS Windows along with coding scripting solutions to address moderately complex problems
- Expertise in operational topics before they become issues and recommending and implementing strategies mitigating them. When issues do occur, triage issues to identify the correct problem fast and mitigate them from occuring again.
- At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership or cross functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 10 percent of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

- Expert in SAP Solution Manager, such as ChaRM and Monitoring (technical and E2E)
- Commercial and technical experience, including experience working within an IT service area.
- Experience driving relationships with the business, stakeholders and partners.
- Experience assessing business proposals, project scoping, feasibility analysis and cost estimation.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders on the solutions for proposed initiatives.
