Reports to: VP, Project Solutions
Works closely with: Pre-construction, Project Controls, Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and all Project Stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine planning and scheduling assignments that require the selection and application of complex scheduling principles and techniques on highly complex utility scale solar battery storage projects
- This role is responsible for supporting departments in preconstruction planning, design development activities, bid / buy-out, long lead procurement items, construction sequences, startup, testing & commissioning, and closeout.
- Lead and coordinate project teams and trade partners in the development of project schedules using CPM scheduling on utility scale solar projects
- Support projects through monitoring and progressing project schedules, reporting cycles and deliverables are met
- Generate mitigation options and assist project management to formulate mitigation plans to relieve schedule impacts or delays on a project
- Coach, mentor, train and develop team members in scheduling methodology and best practices
- Collaborate with Pre-construction on proposals, including leading successful project pursuit strategy regarding project schedule(s)
- Support roll-out of all company-wide training programs and implementation
- Create visual references / diagrams / graphics using schedule data to further describe the project plan, status, and upcoming scope of work.
- Communicate variance reports, graphics, and narratives to highlight issues or conflicts.
- Participate in corporate planning and scheduling improvement initiatives and best practice sharing
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
The successful candidate will have the following Skills/Experience/Abilities:
- 8+ years of experience in EPC construction and BMPs
- Experience in utility scale solar construction experience a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, and practices
- Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices, project sequencing and installation methods
- Strong plan and specification reading, review and interpretation skills with ability to identify concerns in document review
- Knowledge of project management, buyout and contracts
- Ability to work within an un-structured environment as the Project Solutions department continues to develop.
- Extensive experience in the use of Primavera scheduling software.
- Knowledge of resource loaded schedules, SOVs, Earned Value, SPI, etc.
- Basic understanding of project estimates to assist with schedule development, cost loading and resource loading of schedules
- Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with co-workers, service providers, and customers.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of experience a role as construction scheduler.
