Job Description


Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for an experienced Security Architect to perform a critical role defining and shaping the security of our corporate network and information systems. This role is a great opportunity for a seasoned security professional to help define processes and implement solutions for the continuous improvement of Red Wing Shoe Company’s security controls in accordance with industry best practices.

The Security Architect will be the primary security team member responsible for working with Red Wing technology and business teams to assess existing, proposed and in-development technology projects for potential security weaknesses, and help design and implement mitigating security controls, where appropriate. The Security Architect will conduct threat modelling to map potential attack vectors against infrastructure and applications and design effective security solutions and controls to protect Red Wing from advanced attacks.

Essential Duties:

  • Think like an attacker to continuously assess and identify potential attack vectors against Red Wing infrastructure, to include potential lateral movement and data exfiltration opportunities.
  • Design security controls and solutions to mitigate known & unknown vulnerabilities within Red Wing’s network and applications.
  • Serve as a contributor to the Enterprise Architecture team for all security-related matters.
  • Interface with the engineering and development teams to ensure a Secure-by-Design approach is taken towards new projects and application development.
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of the threat landscape as it applies to Red Wing systems.
  • Engage in continuous security process and technology improvement through collaboration with other Red Wing teams.
  • Assist with developing and performing internal security assessments, working closely with internal and external auditors to validate security controls and adherence to policies and standards.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining relevant security-related policies, processes, standards, and baselines.
  • Communicate recommendations to leadership and other Red Wing teams on results of security assessments and reviews.
  • Validate outputs, alerts, rules, and configurations of security technologies and solutions.
  • Assist with awareness training to educate the Red Wing workforce on threats and appropriate measures to protect against them.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Qualifications


Qualified candidates will have 7+ years of cybersecurity experience. Additional required experience includes understanding of common attack techniques and corresponding defensive measures; Experience implementing security control frameworks such as CIS Critical Security Controls, NIST 800-56, and/or ISO 27001; Knowledgeable in multiple security technologies including but not limited to: SIEM, NGFW, IDS/IPS, DLP, EDR, A/V, WAF, Orchestration Solutions; Strong Windows operating system, Active Directory, and networking background; Understanding of authentication protocols, cryptography, key management, and PKI; Experience working with API’s, building enterprise-wide security architecture plans, and utilizing threat intelligence to inform the delivery of security solutions. Experience administering or defending Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft O365 environments and security certifications such as GDSA, CNDA, CRTSA, GCCC, OSCP, GPEN, and GDAT are a plus.

This is a fully remote position. This position requires the ability to potentially be on call evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on critical outages or planned maintenance events (minimal).
