Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Senior Program Administrator. Reporting to the Senior Director of the RBS Office of Career Management, this position is an integral part of the development and maintenance of employer relations for the RBS Office of Career Management.

This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
  • Leads and supports employer initiatives and services to meet the recruitment needs of RBS students, including handling employer inquiries and providing strategic support to the Senior Director concerning employer development ad relations
  • Provides strategic and aggressive prospecting of new job leads to increase the pool of employers participating in recruitment programs
  • Works to strengthen relationships with current employers, expand to additional areas within those employers, increase employer engagement with RBS students and diversify the base of employers
  • Provides assistance with employer-delivered and sponsored workshops, large-scale programming and boutique events designed to assist employer-branding efforts and encourage greater collaboration opportunities
  • Works with the Employer development teams at the New Brunswick University Career Services and Newark Center for Career Development to collaborate on employer relations
  • Works closely with the RBS Career Management teams to support on-campus activities, career fairs and recruiting opportunities
  • Builds relationships with new and existing employers through campus events, career fairs, student-organized club events, external connections, and campus educational activities
  • Develops alumni and employer outreach campaigns and create unique employer engagement opportunities
  • Expected to stay abreast of relevant industry research
  • Travels to company locations, conferences, and intra-campus required
  • Requires occasional evenings and weekends

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, public administration, management, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of management and administrative principles and practices.
  • Also requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in an administrative function, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.

  • Must be a hands-on individual who will collaborate with other teams and be driven by innovation and results
  • Possesses in-depth understanding of employer relationship management and the needs of recruiters
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, problem-solve, and manage projects
  • Has a track record of successfully managing employer inquiries as well as increasing employer participation in key recruiting services


Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree
  • Corporate recruiting and campus /university relations expertise preferred
  • Ability to utilize online networking job search tools such as Linked In. Proficiency with Career Management Systems (e.g., Symplicity, CSO, Handshake, etc.)
  • Experience in a university, event planning, and/or customer service environment that includes recruitment and/or executive search
