Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms.

Team Introduction

The Pharma BD team is razor focused on certain applications of the Ginkgo platform in the manufacture and development of certain therapeutic areas, small molecules, and diagnostics. A subset of those applications is the engineering of enzymes for biocatalysis, diagnostics, and therapeutics.

Specific Role Description

As a Senior Director of Technical Business Development Professional, you will be responsible for supporting biocatalysis deals. Your work is where the rubber meets the road. You will be responsible for liaising with the relevant Ginkgo technical teams, the growth and BD teams, and the customer to develop relevant enzyme engineering services for the development of next gen biocatalysts. Experience working with pharma and diagnostics companies and familiarity with their respective enzyme related challenges is key. Ability to come up to speed quickly on the Ginkgo Platform is critical. Creativity and flexibility are second nature to you.

Responsibilities

    • Meet with customers to discuss their needs and pitch Ginkgo’s technical solutions.
    • Advise on specs of the buildout of manufacturing / scale up capabilities for enzyme supply
    • Present at conference technical presentation
    • Write technical proposals

Requirements

    • Requisite education: PhD Chemistry / Biochemistry
    • Min of twelve years with a Bachelors of industrial relevant experience. Level/title depends on education and experience.

Please note: This role will be a remote opportunity, with a travel to the Boston office location at least 1 week out of a month.
