Job description
As the Senior Financial Accountant with Liberty Diversified International, you will be responsible for analyzing, classifying and reviewing both routine and varying degrees of complex accounting transactions and interrelationships with a key focus on Fixed Assets, Leases, Intangibles and Inventory.
This individual will also be responsible for identifying issues and concerns within the scope and complexity of their job in order to bring solutions and recommendations to accounting management. In addition, they will act as project manager and/or technical lead on numerous process improvement projects. This full-time position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and is located at LDI’s headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely and accurate financial accounting in compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies utilizing current best practices to maximize value and efficiency.
- Develop, maintain and implement company policies, standards, operational procedures and work instructions for performing and documenting accounting activities.
- Identify, design and implement process improvements within accounting department at LDI and across LDI’s divisions to increase productivity and engagement.
- Act as a liaison between the LDI’s divisions and the corporate accounting team to leverage support and ensure timely and accurate compliance with corporate policies, reporting, procedures and controls.
- Effectively manage projects including project scope, time, and budget, and ensure high quality deliverables.
- Ability to research and conclude on technical accounting issues
- Become Administrative superuser of the JD Edwards Fixed Asset and Lease System Modules and act as project and/or technical lead on future system upgrades.
- Partner with Engineering department to oversee and manage the fixed asset and lease approval processes.
- Prepare quarterly consolidated fixed asset, lease, and intangible roll forwards and reconciliation review procedures.
- Manage the entire fixed asset and lease processes, from planning/approval stages in SharePoint to the asset’s eventual disposal/termination.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets and lease schedules in and outside of the ERP system,
- Oversee fixed asset post implementation audit process and track fixed asset spending in relation to its capital budget and ensure compliance with LDI’s PP&E policy.
- Carry out periodic reviews on intangible asset impairments.
- Partner with Divisions to create processes and procedures to ensure inventory is being recorded properly and in compliance with LDI’s inventory policy.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory organizations and assist in preparation of annual audit and tax filings.
- Conduct trainings and arrange trainings for new and current associates to ensure company policies, operational procedures, standards, controls, and work instructions are understood and followed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Possess strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong knowledge and experience of fixed assets, leases, and general ledger
- Possess strong project management skills
- Ability to learn and navigate effectively in JD Edwards ERP System
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- Both public and private accounting experience
- Financial experience in a Manufacturing environment
