The Walker Group, a Technology Consulting and Digital Marketing Organization located in Farmington, CT is seeking a highly motivated Senior Help Desk Engineer who will be part of our Remote Support Department providing timely responses and appropriate resolutions to clients having technical issues. You must had a strong desire to work with an organization which fosters communication and collaboration across multiple disciplies. Responsibilities

• Triage and solve issues communicated via phone, e-mail or alerting systems
• Identify, track and escalate severe issues and problematic trends in a timely manner
• Solve backup failures and restore files
• Setup and troubleshoot e-mail functionality, workstations, servers and appliances
• Malware/Virus clean-up
• Configure and setup mobile devices
• Use remote control tools to support clients
• Occasional internal IT support
• Mentor Help Desk Specialists

Qualifications

• 2 years MSP help desk or 3 years Internal IT help desk experience
• 2 years desk top operating systems and application support experience, including Microsoft Office and to third party applications
• Excellent communication and customer service support skills
• Recent experience with Windows Server support
• Ability to use independent judgement when solving issues that have no pre-existing solution
• Proficiency in troubleshooting intermediate issues pertaining to networking protocols on applications (TCP/IP, DHCP, VPN)
• Ability to troubleshot desktop and laptop hardware
• Firewall experience preferred
• Experience using Backup Software to restore file and familiarity with DR terminology
• Actively pursuing Net+ Certification or equivalent perferred
• Available to work 10:30am to 7:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
