Position Summary
- Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with a minimum of five years’ experience in commercial contracting. This role will support a variety of Schneider electric business units and requires experience in drafting, analyzing, and negotiating complex equipment and services agreements of varying scope and complexity.
- What do you get to do in this position? To be part of Schneider Electric’s Legal team by providing expertise in the areas of drafting, negotiating, and providing advice for commercial contracting for various business units with responsibilities including but not limited to:
Roles & Responsibilities
- Drafting, analyzing, providing advice, and negotiating a combination of specialized or complex equipment sales and service contracts of varying scope
- Be a business counsel, partner and provide strategic legal support and advice to internal business clients
- Working directly with internal stakeholders and customers, to negotiate complex agreements in relation to products, services, software, and components to support Schneider Electric’s business, product offerings and customer projects
- Providing thought leadership on best-in-class contracting templates; development of contracting best practices, clause libraries and playbooks
- Provide legal advice and counsel within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to ensure that their current or proposed activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations
- Provide legal trainings to business clients as directed by manager
- Provide pre-dispute advice to internal clients regarding disputes with customers

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school in the U.S.
- Bar admission in at least one U.S. state
- At least 5+ years of experience directly handling, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial equipment and/or service agreements.

Preferences
- At least 5 years’ prior experience directly handling, drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts preferably in a global setting
- Experience in government contracting and regulatory engagements is a plus.
- Law firm experience will be considered; prior in-house counsel experience within a corporate legal department is preferred
