Senior Software Process Improvement Engineer

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis, a rapidly growing small company in Huntsville, AL, is currently seeking a Senior Software Process Improvement Engineer with CMMI Certification and Experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that software development processes meet industry standards and best practices. You will work closely with software development teams to identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements based on the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) framework.

As a Software Process Improvement Engineer, you will have a deep understanding of software development processes and the CMMI framework. You will use your expertise to guide the development of software process improvement plans and lead process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and maintain software process improvement plans based on the CMMI framework.
• Work closely with software development teams to identify areas for improvement in software development processes.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to improve software development processes.
• Provide training and guidance to software development teams on process improvement activities.
• Conduct assessments of software development processes to identify strengths and weaknesses.
• Define and track process improvement metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
• Participate in the development of new software development requirements.
• Keep up to date with the latest software development technologies and trends.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• US Citizenship required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• CMMI Certification (e.g. CMMI Associate, CMMI Professional)
• 20+ years of experience in software development processes and process improvement.
• Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Strong understanding of the CMMI framework and its application to software development processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
