The Role
Want to help bring Fidelity’s investing and personal finance advice to life through videos that demystify money matters and help people achieve their life goals?
We are seeking a creative individual who is experienced in broadcast journalism and digital and social media and passionate about bringing financial topics to life in creative ways to make them accessible to millions of people.
In the Senior Viewpoints Video Content Strategist role, you will conceive and script webcasts and videos including our 20-minute weekly Viewpoints Market Sense webcast, longer webcasts on timely personal finance topics, and short, social-first Viewpoints Voices videos. Topics will include the economic and financial market outlook, investing ideas, and personal finance topics ranging from saving and preparing for retirement, to buying a home, charitable giving, and navigating life events like marriage, having a family, and curveballs like divorce and illness.
You will work with subject matter experts, compliance, production, and distribution to insure the timely and smooth execution of a variety of regularly scheduled shows. You will work with social media, newsletter, web, marketing, PR and media teams to optimize distribution. And you will help drive strategy for the entire suite of Viewpoints video programs.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Five or more years in journalism, preferably broadcast with production experience
- Financial experience preferred. Passion for demystifying investing and personal finance required
- Strong writer and experienced storyteller who can entertain as well as educate
- Able to transform complex and sometimes dry topics into clear, interesting, and compelling stories for different audiences
- Experienced with digital and social media formats and best practices
- Experienced in using paid, owned, and earned media distribution strategies to drive engagement with content
- Comfortable with tight, sometimes shifting deadlines and experienced at juggling multiple projects and prioritizing
- Capable of making progress in environments where there are many guardrails (such as legal, compliance, and/or brand)
- Comfortable presenting ideas to senior executives and externally
The Team
The role fits within Fidelity’s Content Team which is dedicated to helping our customers become more confident and successful managing their money. The team lives within the marketing department for Fidelity Investment’s Personal Investing Division, which is focused on serving individual investors with a broad range of products and services. We have a passion for putting clients first, and creating content that is simple, human, and engaging.
