Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking Senior Water Quality Specialist who will work with Stantec’s Environmental group out of our Roseville office. The successful candidate will provide technical support services on a variety of projects relating to water management, permitting, and other environmental programs.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support planning, permitting, and executing discharges of wastewater streams in compliance with PG&E policies, procedures, and standards, as well as Federal, State, and local laws and regulations
- Understand what is required to develop lawfully compliant, cost-effective solutions to wastewater discharges
- Participate in formal project status meetings and on-site meetings to gather information and assist/advise other water handling stakeholders to properly plan for the project’s water management needs
- Identify discharge options, prioritizing availability and feasibility for risk and associated cost
- Prepare sampling management plans, operations manuals, and quality control programs related to permit compliance
- Review permit applications and self-monitoring reports related to water permits
Qualifications
Your Capabilities
- Show initiative in integrating creativity and innovation in all work tasks
- Experience with Microsoft word and excel
- Motivated/driven, conscientious, organized, and disciplined
- Working experience at active construction sites
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Experience in environmental sampling, construction stormwater and environmental compliance monitoring
- Strong communication skills and be able to speak clearly, confidently and effectively with construction contractors, project team.
- Ability to understand a project’s environmental compliance needs, identify issues of non-compliance, coordinate to ensure needed corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner and follow through to ensure overall project success and compliance
Experience, Education
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Earth Science, Geology, Natural, Environmental science, or Civil Engineering
- Experience with and understanding of California water policies, programs, regulations, and guidelines
- 10 - 15 years of experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to convey complex issues to a variety of audiences; Experience working with stakeholders, the environmental community, and the public
- Experience communicating and working with local, state, and federal agency staff
- Strong client relationships and experience with local/regional water management agencies

Salary Range(s):
- $38.94 Per Hour - $58.37 Per Hour (CA, CO locations only)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
