MTC is currently seeking candidates interested in a Sergeant position. This position is responsible for the custody and security of detainees assigned to the facility.

Other functions include:

• Instruct, train, counsel and provide feedback for evaluation of assigned employees.
• Responsible for the care, custody, and adherence to rules and regulations of detainees assigned to specific work area.
• Supervise and provide custody and security of detainees including observation of detainees and detainees assigned to work duty. Read, review and properly apply information found in detainee's records which is related to the detainee's health and safety and to the security of the facility. Provide appropriate information to other personnel.
• Supervise the preparation and maintenance of records, forms and reports. Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security. Perform specific security functions including pat and strip searches.
• Respond to any and all emergencies, which requires running, climbing stairs, using physical force to restrain detainees.
• Must have the ability for work all posts, comply with all post orders, and perform all duties outline in the post orders.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years' experience in an adult correctional environment or related field. US Citizenship required. Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
