Service Desk Technician, IT, Secret Clearance, rotating shifts

Our company is looking for a Service Desk Technician to join our team in Stennis Space Center, in Mississippi. Current Secret Clearance is required and, due to the nature of our client base, only U.S. Citizens may be considered. Every 3 weeks rotating shift schedule changes are required by the client; day, swing and anchor. Occasional work on Holidays will be required with increased pay rate for such dates.
The Service Desk Technician will join DeVine, and collaborate with our government customer. If you have the relevant experience & attributes, and would enjoy working onsite in MS, then we want you on our team!
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring systems/network/process functionality by observing automated monitoring tools outputs
- Executing scripts and/or key-ins to determine system status
- Initiating procedures to backup and/or transfer data from systems to the designated outputs
- Distributing reports, scripts, scans, and other outputs media to the end-user
- Monitoring IT hardware supply levels and advising client on restocking requirements
- Providing status systems/processes to the client
- Capturing downtime statistics
- Assisting in the implementation of new monitoring procedures and new technologies
- Powering up and booting computer systems and peripherals as necessary
- Periodically cleaning devices prone to collect dust, lint, or other particles, and adjusting settings or controls on devices to ensure the best possible operation
- Staying abreast of current security regulations and requirements in order to maintain the security and integrity of classified information
- Monitoring of panels and automated alarms for fire protection and power systems and notifying appropriate personnel when problems occur
- Advising the client of any operational problems which impact the performance of the systems
- Answering Scientific IT Help Desk phone, and creating and submitting tickets in the automated Help Desk system for System/Network Administrators to resolve
- Stamping and/or labeling all output media with the appropriate security classification markings
- Interfacing with remote users and verifying data transmission
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university a plus
- 2+ years of experience working with various computer system concepts, configurations, analysis, operating procedures, and device interconnections, and knowledge of Information Technology hardware (servers, PCs, disk subsystems, plotters, scanners, etc.) preferred
- 2+ years of experience working with various software (Unix and Windows Operating Systems and COTS applications) preferred
- 2+ years of experience working with various telecommunication equipment (modems, LAN equipment, etc.), and services (hardware and software maintenance) preferred
- Current CompTIA Security+ highly desired
- Current Secret Clearance or higher required
- Availability for regular 3 week shift rotations required including occasional Holiday shifts

Compensation Range: $45,000 yearly base estimate, plus opportunity for OT & Holiday increased rates
