SERVICE TECHNICIAN

General Purpose of Job :

The Service Technician (ST) maintains golf cars in our Service Department and/or on our customer’s site. This is a technical position with responsibility for performing preventative and corrective maintenance primarily on Club Car golf carts. The ST will diagnose component and system failures in mechanical and electrical systems; identify required parts and submit parts requests as appropriate. The ST will have direct contact with customers and interact with others from all areas of the company emphasizing excellent internal and external customer service on a day-to-day basis. Personnel within this position are expected to live the Club Car of Sun City “Core Values” of Quality, Integrity and Commitment. The Service Technician will demonstrate the ability to grow and develop into a more senior technical role; and serve as an example to all others within the service environment and throughout the company.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Interfaces with other service technicians and prep technicians, as well as, sales and administrative process owners and participants within the company to ensure smooth transition of work throughout a logical work process.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on golf carts.
• Diagnose component and system failures in mechanical and electrical systems; identify required parts and submit parts requests as appropriate.
• Accepts assignments; prepares and/or review technical bulletins and documentation and initiates appropriate action to complete assignments in accordance with team and management direction.
• Continues to perform individual assignments in support of the department and company’s goals and objectives. Utilizes forms and documentation to manage work; track daily activities and update periodic reporting.
• Manages time effectively and efficiently and keeps management informed of any and all issues and concerns as related to personnel performance and behavior.
• Manages assigned responsibilities in a leadership role and continually sets the standard for other team members. Lives the “core values” and strives to achieve the same through words and deeds.
• Sets an example by providing outstanding customer service, practices good inventory control and represents Club Car of Sun City in a productive, positive manner.
• Performs duties as delegated by Service Manager and may perform “Whatever Needs to Be Done” to contribute to Club Car of Sun City success.

Competency Range: Outstanding rating in all listed competencies

• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturer’s technical publications, schematics and parts manuals.
• Must be computer literate.
• Ability to drive service van/truck.
• Ability to understand assignments given, plan appropriate action(s) to complete and execute plan
• Ability to work in all kinds of weather, including heat and cold.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems on golf cars.
• Ability to lift 50 – 90 lbs.
• Time Management: Manage time to complete all work assigned within time allocated.
• Communication: Effectively send and receive information both verbally and in writing
• Judgment: Know when to escalate issues and to whom
• Judgment: Research the facts prior to taking action or making a decision
• Reliability: Must report to work daily and on-time. Must complete all assignments

• Versatility: Perform “Whatever needs to be done” regardless of job title or job description

Education and Experience :

Minimum Requirement : High School Diploma (or Equivalency Certificate) and 2 - 3 years experience in golf car service; industrial equipment service; and/or small engine mechanical service/maintenance.

We have an airconditioned workshop as well as some outdoor space for washing and storage of carts waiting to be prepped for sale.
