Position Purpose: Your responsibility as the Technician is to diagnose equipment repair needs and perform designated repairs on customer or company owned machines as directed. Repairs are made on, but not limited to Bobcat equipment, Stihl or Toro equipment, Cimline melters, etc.

Your Primary Job Duties:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair customer/company equipment in a shop or field environment while making sure that your efficiency and productivity are up to Swanston Equipment standards.
• Plan out methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned.
• Request all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs.
• Verify warranty coverage and repair work per vendor.
• Conduct the repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure that all repairs are completed as assigned.
• Ensure the cosmetic appearance of the unit where the repair was performed is up to the customers standards.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition.
• Maintain good working records for various clock ins and write ups on work orders, and ordering for parts.
• Ensure all record keeping methods are followed per instructions.
• Ensure all records are kept legible and in compliance with established methods.
• Other duties as assigned.

While you will be responsible to provide a full tool set for your repairs to have stationed in your designated space, we will provide you with specialty tools and equipment in efforts to make you as efficient at your job as possible. We will ask you to please care for these tools and equipment by ensuring all specialty tools used on the job are obtained using the methods established, cleaned before being returned and are returned to the original location in working condition.

We are looking for the following skills and qualifications in you:

• Technical, vocational, or trade school education or at least 3 years of equivalent experience required.
• Demonstrate good problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills – both oral and written, and computer literacy.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret industry terminology.
• Must be self-motivated and have knowledge of basic tools and tool usage.
• Must show respectful and considerate behavior to all your coworkers.

Physical Requirements:

You must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and operate in a very fast-paced environment. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold weather temperatures.
