Yarrington Mills is looking for a dedicated, experienced, knowledgeable, and eager candidate to start a small sewing operation that will complement our ever-growing and constantly evolving dye sublimation division. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background operating industrial sewing machines and have excellent working knowledge of how to utilize multiple fabric types to create various garments. They will also be a hands-on individual looking to create top-notch product, develop an efficient production workflow for their team, train additional members as the team grows, and provide the strong foundation needed to build a thriving sewing floor. This position will start small and grow with the company, providing the infrastructure necessary to grow the division. Are you up for the challenge?

Title: Sewing Operator/Supervisor

Reports to: Director of Sublimation and Art

Position Focus

The focus of the Sewing Operator/Supervisor is to produce first-quality sewn garments based on the specifications given to them, train team members on all sewing-related operations, and create an efficient team workflow and atmosphere.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform all aspects of sewing to create first-quality garments based on tech packs/spec sheets
• Prep orders for efficient handling
• Identify necessary accessories for each order (zippers, waistbands, etc.)
• Create production workflow to maximize efficiency
• Notify management of production issues and/or delays
• Perform basic machine maintenance
• Act as liaison between sewing team and management
• Additional duties as assigned

Physical Environment and Demands
The employee will be required to do all the following:

• Verbally communicate with and listen to coworkers
• Sit for extended periods of time
• Regularly lift or move 25+ lbs
• Have exposure to noise and moving machinery on a regular basis

Education and Experience

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years relevant work experience

Preferred

• Advanced machine maintenance skills
• Team Lead, Supervisor, or Management experience
