Job Summary:

The primary role of the Inventory Control- Shipping Position in the receiving warehouse is to support the inventory control duties as directed by the Inventory Control Manager by implementing, following, and enforcing inventory control practices and procedures. These duties include but are not limited to conducting daily inventory cycle counts and cycle count reconciliations, consolidation of materials, and review of inventory reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Review inventory reports and determine root cause of inventory discrepancies.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Retrieve newly produced pallets from mixing rooms.
  • Verify that all product is clean, undamaged, and labeled/stacked correctly on pallets.
  • Wrap pallets according to customer service requirements.
  • Store products in designated rack locations both physically and systemically in our WMS.
  • Assure batch cards are completely filled out and filled out correctly.
  • Systemic consolidation of materials in our WMS.
  • Physical consolidation of materials using forklift equipment.
  • Assist shipping with location discrepancies.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Facilitate support of all departments and subsidiary requests.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Must be available to work overtime when called for by business need.
  • Oversee the training process of new department employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School diploma/GED or relative work experience (4 years of relative work experience = Diploma/GED.
  • 2+ years in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Strong math skills and communication skills.
  • Prior forklift training and certification preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience with WMS.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong oral comprehension and expression skills.
  • Able to work independently or with a team.
  • Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
  • Dependability with a sense of urgency.
  • Able to work 40+ hours per week on their feet in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs frequently.
  • Walk long distances repeatedly, bend, stoop, climb stairs or ladders.
  • Work in an environment that is dusty and may contain spices with high heat.
  • Regular kneeling, reaching, handling.
  • Talking/ hearing conversations.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Vision requirements: near and far visual acuity/visual accommodation.
  • Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures.
