· Salary Range: $55000 - $75000
· Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Overview
The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving for MTI’s production facility. With a history of success in implementing lean practices in various environments, you will have a strong leadership presence and the willingness to work hands-on and wear many hats as you gain MTI experience. You will impact the business by implementing shipping and receiving continuous improvement and ensuring accountability to safety, quality, productivity, and accuracy. As a key position in our leadership team, this role will highly impact business operations and help us to scale our fast-growing business.
Minimum Requirements
· Bilingual English and Spanish.
· 5 Years of experience shipping and people management, shipping and receiving improvements, planning, documentation, continuous improvement, team member development, and other leadership responsibilities.
· Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
· Working knowledge and experience in ERP systems.
· Ability to learn a complex ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX).
· Experience managing receiving and outgoing/shipping processes.
· Ability to pull and prepare orders for shipment, including proper paperwork, packaging, and counts for each order.
· Demonstrable experience scheduling trucks, negotiating freight fees, developing carrier relationships, creating BOL’s, and shipping FedEx and UPS.
· Demonstrate a full understanding of all forms of transportation and least cost routing.
· Use forklift to load semitrucks.
Preferred Requirements
· Demonstrated experience determining the different types of schedule freight pickups and related accounting processes to ensure correct freight billing to customer or MTI.
· Ability to maximize trailer loading while ensuring integrity and protection of finished goods.
· Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
· College/University degree in related field
Responsibilities
Day-to-day Tasks
- Manage all shipping and receiving team members and processes.
- Select and train shipping and receiving team members.
- Motivate employees to work safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrate safe and efficient work processes as you work with your employees.
- Document and maintain shipping and receiving processes.
- Ensure products ship on time and daily on-time delivery goals are met.
- Ensure that shipping and receiving cost, quality, and safety goals are met.
- Ensure the warehouse is safe, organized, efficient, properly maintained, and compliant with all workplace codes and regulations.
- Negotiate UPS charges, shipping rates, and FAK’s with Carriers.
- Serve as an example of hard work and integrity as you work side by side with your team members.
- Hold all employees accountable to company standards.
- Foster a collaborative, self-directed work environment.
- Define the training and development needs of all team members.
- Focus on team member productivity, morale, and empowerment.
- Address personnel issues with the assistance of Human Resources (attendance, time reporting, scheduling PTO, team member performance management, training, modified duty assignments, and discipline).
- Perform and document team member performance reviews and provide continuous coaching and development.
- Mentor, coach, and discipline team members.
- Partner with HR when team member termination is required.
- Document team member issues, coaching sessions, areas of concern, areas of development, violations of safety or company policy, and need for improvement.
- Authorize and manage overtime as required.
