Job description
Basic Purpose:
To provide support and assist the shop foreman to ensure parts are ordered for shop projects and added to work orders as needed. Will also accept incoming shipments of products, organize merchandise for delivery, and keep records regarding these transactions.
The incumbent will report directly to the service center manager. In all duties, the shop/inventory control clerk will promote and enhance the company's image by maintaining a neat personal appearance and by keeping the warehouse clean and organized.
Job Responsibilities:
Checks all parts against packing list, identifying receiving problems or freight damage. Ensures identifying part numbers are on each part before putting into inventory.
Performs daily perpetual inventory.
Required to learn the purchase order system to assist when needed.
Assist in evaluation of inventory control function. Recommends improvements and helps to implement.
Retrieves parts as directed by sales order or shipping list. Reviews parts before shipment to include right number of parts in shipment, correct addresses and all comments on order are fulfilled.
Receives and checks orders and assist shop foreman in getting parts to needed location.
Reconciles returned goods.
As needed pulls parts from inventory for shop projects and completes transfers as required.
Keeps informed on shipping regulations to include internal shipment of parts.
Cooperates with other departments to expedite parts as needed.
Performs other duties as required.
Maintains SWIP for shop projects.
Order parts as required for shop projects.
Requests replacement data plates as needed for shop projects.
Follows up on B/O's for shop projects.
