SIDEWALK SNOW BLOWER OPERATORS / SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

Department of Public Services is NOW hiring for the Winter Season. This role is required to work during or following snowstorms for shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours in duration. Hours will be as needed on a Call-In basis, Monday through Sunday up to six months. The ability to respond to the worksite within 45 minutes would be preferred.

• Must have a valid state driver’s license, past background and other pre-employment tests
• Experience with relevant equipment such as snow blowers, sidewalk plows, farm tractors is preferred
• Self-motivated with the ability to communicate in a cordial and professional manner
• Able to perform physical labor including lifting and shoveling
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance required for the equipment which will be operated and the ability to detect the need for, as well as make, minor repairs or adjustments on tools or equipment. Actively participate in a team environment
• Complete daily logs and timesheets
• Report vandalism, mechanical difficulties, equipment/property damage, etc
• Comply with all applicable regulations/requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Policy: Temporary/seasonal employees of the City of Traverse City shall not exceed 1,040 hours of employment within any consecutive twelve (12) month period. Hourly Rate starts at $17.00 per hour depends on experience
