TITLE: Soccer Referee

STARTING WAGE: Dependent on experience

HOURS AND SCHEDULE: Seven Saturdays in the fall and spring.

CLOSING DATE: Position is open until filled

Overview: The Youth Soccer Referee is a part time position that reports directly to the Program Supervisor and is responsible for the enforcement of the soccer rules as they apply to the program. Willing to hire for fall or spring or both seasons.

Experience

Must be at least 14 years old (14 & 15-year-olds must have a valid work permit)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Attends mandatory referee training.
• Conducts field inspection prior to scheduled games.
• Sets up corner flags before games and correctly stores corner flags at the conclusion of games.
• Inspects player equipment as outlined in the MSSL rules.
• Learns and enforces the Mid Suburban Soccer League (MSSL) rules as they apply to the Villa Park Youth Soccer League.
• Conducts first aid procedures as necessary.
• Records and communicates any administered first aid, incidents or inappropriate behavior of players, coaches and spectators to the Program Supervisor and Site Supervisor.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge/rules of the game of soccer and ability to teach players and coaches.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service, self-control and leadership.
• Ability to resolve concerns as needed.
