Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Center of Hope/Prescription for Hope Social Worker provides acute crisis intervention services, information and referral services, and community outreach and education to primary and secondary victims of violence, abuse, and neglect at Eskenazi Health. This position requires prompt assessment of the patient's bio-psycho-social needs, in a fast-paced Level I trauma center as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Position will also be responsible for providing information and training to community partners and to general public through community outreach.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree social work, LSW required with LCSW required within 2 years of hire.
  • Ability to fulfill duties noted in area specific competencies (Adult, Acute, Youth, Family Systems, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Other trauma-related competencies)
  • Upon approval if candidate does not have licensure, a plan to obtain licensure within three (3) years may be accepted in lieu of current licensure
  • Experience in a healthcare or community setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources
  • Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements

Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span and possess the ability to assess data/interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. Ability to use age appropriate communication and skills detailed in the department/area/unit job specific/age specific competencies
  • Ability to work cooperatively with multi-discipline teams in situations requiring a high degree of flexibility, creativity, initiative
  • Ability to perform duties independently under the direction of specified supervisor
